HAPPY EARTH DAY- PLANT A SEED PARTY

HAPPY EARTH DAY!  This eco-friendly and budget-friendly ($58 was spent) party idea is from Paula at Frog Prince Paperie. With so many great ideas, Mother Nature is smiling big at this one- and, I bet, you will be too!  Notice how Paula used simple Kraft paper to top a white tablecloth and green scrapbook  paper was made into placemats.  Leaves were cut from the placemats using an exacto knife and then used as part of the cake topper!

Each place setting had a terracotta pot that held the silverware in the cutest way!  Paper flowers can be saved and re-used as decorations after the party!

One of my favorite touches was the napkins on the place settings. Paula bought plain white napkins (dollar store) and, using a few green ones from an old party that were on hand, made ruffles and sewed them to the white napkins for instant drama. This was an extremely inexpensive way to get a very designer look.

The lunch table was set with healthy and fun fare that was served in an eye-catching display...

Sandwiches were wrapped and tied with twine~

Grapes on a skewer are always fun to eat!

Kraft paper cones secured with a band held popcorn for nibbling...

A basket of strawberries looks beautiful and delicious~

I also love the playful dirt cups full of worms for a fun and earthy dessert!  A little dirt never hurt anything!

Tractor rides and seed planting were the activities that kept the children entertained right in the backyard~

I love how Paula included the children's grandpa to share his Master Gardener skills and knowledge...children love to learn from their grandparents!

Favors included seed packets for the children to take home and enjoy planting flowers in their own yards!  What a perfect way to end the party!

Thank you for sharing your party inspiration, Paula!  We can all reduce, reuse, and recycle- and celebrate our Earth in the meantime!
