My son’s class recently did “C Week” and “O Week”, and so I sent in these yummy Cranberry-Oatmeal cookies to go along with the theme.  A new, local bake shop made the cookies and shared the recipe with us.  Thank you, to Kumquat Mae, for sharing her yummy treats with us- they are perfect for this time of year!  Keep reading for a cute turkey craft and for a FREEBIE!

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup shortening

2 cups brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 Tablespoon milk

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/4 cups oats

1 cup dried cranberries (Craisins)

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar

Add eggs one at a time

Add vanilla and milk

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt

Mix together.  Stir in oats and cranberries.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Drop by teaspoonful onto parchment paper.

Cook for 10-12 minutes or until golden.  Cool.  ENJOY!

These would make a perfect Thanksgiving treat for the teachers!  Just bag, place in a burlap square, and tie with a ribbon.  A platter of cookies dropped off for all to enjoy is also a nice way to say you are thankful for the teachers in your lives!

The turkey craft was shared with us by Hatter and Hare Events

All you need to make this is a paper lantern, foam paper and hot glue.  Use the cute little turkey below as a template, cut out the shapes, and glue them directly onto the lantern.  That’s it!
