The fun and excitement of a “Gender Reveal” party always makes for a wonderful party– but add the gorgeous designs and details of Kate Landers and the party is amazing in every way!  Even more exciting is  that this party was for Kate herself as she and her husband announced the gender of their baby-on-the-way!

I love how Kate used the classic children’s book Make Way For Ducklings– such a fitting theme!

Guests were given opportunities to make their best “quack” at it to see if they guessed correctly- and the new parents will have keepsakes for their new baby to show the excitement over this exciting time in life!

I love all the sweet ducklings used throughout the party- and the beautiful neutral color scheme.

The tissue poms hanging from the ceiling add so much- and I think the carton of homemade ice cream for each guest is a perfect gesture…

Guests were also treated to shortbread “duck egg” cookies to enjoy at the party and to take home~

And the anticipated news was revealed with one slice of the cake…

A BOY!!

What an exciting way to share such happy news with your closest friends.  A treat for everyone!

CONGRATULATIONS to you, Kate and Ryan, on the announcement of your baby boy!  Thank you for sharing and letting us all be a part of such a sweet occasion!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
