Camping has so many fun elements for children, and an indoor campout (oxymoron?) makes a perfect party for children eager to enjoy all that camping has to offer…right in the comfort of home!  It also makes it easier on mom and dad!  Margit, of Dot & Dash, designed and hosted this adorable party for her daughter’s 7th birthday.  Margit is always so creative and full of fun- so… cozy-up by the campfire and enjoy!

The cupcakes were topped with fondant toppers that each had a camping motif- from tents, to campfires, to roasted marshmallows!  Such cute toppers from Love and Sugar Kisses!

Margit set the camping scene with props straight from outdoors- such as tree branches for signs and pine cones throughout.  She also set up the yummy treats using a miniature tent and a backdrop full of poms, pinecones, and flashlights!

Can you see the cute cupcakes snuggled in the tent?

Other treats included SMore’s Cookies, chocolate covered marshmallows, and jars of candy~

There was also a Trail Mix Station…

Complete with cute water bottles…

The campfire was a perfect place to sit to enjoy your food and the activities…

The table setting was rustic and cute at the same time!

Margit also gave the party an out-doorsy feel by putting up a tree inside!

The activities included decorating flashlights, making a “God’s Eye”, playing “Camp-O”, “Campicures” (painting nails), Critter Toss, and watching a Yogi Bear movie~

The girls went home with “Campfire Stew”!

Such a fun time for the girls!  Margit also did this party for her son, and you can see the “Boy Version” here.

Thank you for sharing the party, Dot & Dash!!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
