Pink and yellow is always a refreshing combination- add a little lemonade and it is doubly so!  I love the idea of celebrating in sweet style for a First Birthday… as Ashley, from Embracing Beauty, did for her daughter.  A lemonade party is a great theme for any age, and you can keep it low-key or over-the-top!  This party is appropriately casual so as not to overwhelm the birthday girl…but sometimes just the singing can be enough to make them cry!

Ashley’s beautiful rosette cakes were the center of attention on the dessert table!  Perfectly decorated, the big cake held a festive birthday banner made of sweet mini bunting.

The Smash Cake is darling!  The cupcakes make quite a statement, too.  Ashley says she made some of them and bought some (she dressed up the store-bought ones to give them her own touch)…

Such a pretty spread…

What a perfect invitation!

Oh, dear…someone must have been off-key!

I do love that tiny cake…and the priceless memories and photos a first birthday party makes.  Such a special reason to celebrate- she is a doll (and her mom is quite talented in the kitchen)!  Happy Birthday, sweet Anabelle!  I hope you got a re-do on your cake!

So pretty and sweet- thank you for sharing your daughter’s party, Ashley!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
