A Birthday Boy’s nickname becomes the party theme for his second birthday celebration!  Mom Gretchen, of Three Little Monkeys Studio, designed the party, and the party stationery, and many of the desserts! She shares one of her original recipes at the end of the post.  So… straighten your tie, sit back, and enjoy!  These “little men” are sure to make you smile- especially when you see the resemblance to the Birthday Boy!

Gretchen was so smart to shop after Halloween for the black serving pieces- a great time to find a deal!

I love the cute “Wet Whiskers” milk bottles~

Another great idea from Gretchen is this cute wreath to welcome the guests and the rubber stamp that she used to dress up napkins and favor bags!

Gretchen says her “Little Man” has been serious since the day he was born…I’d say he’s just SERIOUSLY CUTE!

Remember these…?

What a great party, Gretchen!  Thank you for sharing this fun and sweet party!

Gretchen also created her own recipe for CARAMEL PRETZEL CHEESECAKE SHOOTERS and she was kind enough to share with us!

Caramel Pretzel Crunch Cheescake Shooters
(makes 12 shooters)

2-8oz. pkg. of cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Cool Whip, thawed
24 pretzels, roughly broken into small pieces
jar of caramel sauce

Fill shooter glasses with 1/2″ of pretzel bits. Reserve some pieces for granish.

Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth, and then fold in 1/2 a container of thawed Cool Whip.

Fill shooter glasses with cream cheese mixture until they are filled halfway. Drizzle caramel sauce over cream cheese mixture, then repeat with another layer of cream cheese mixture. Top with a dollop of Cool Whip, then drizzle more caramel sauce and garnish with a few pretzel bits.

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
