You’re just my type, Valentine!  What a fun and unique theme!  Natalie, of Southern Belle’s Charm, shares inspiration for an adorable playdate or party based on a relic most kids don’t know much about- a typewriter!  Children love pecking away at the typewriter and watching their words turn into (love) letters!

With a mix of red, gray, and brown, Natalie created a Valentine party that appeals to boys and girls!  I love how Natalie layered simple objects, like coffee filters and doilies, to decorate with a vintage feel…look how cute the chairs become with a simple rosette~

Natalie kept the cake simple and added party flair with extra-special sweet treats.  Notice how she bought a white cake and added two cookies on top to decorate.  It looks perfectly beautiful on the red stand!

I also really love the combination of the brown ice cream bowls on the red stand with grey twine!

Heart-shaped whoopie pies are topped with fondant toppers and decorated with sprinkles on the sides.  They look cute and yummy!  Notice how Natalie left some of the whoopie pies plain without the toppers…I think that is a great idea!  It adds interest to the display without overwhelming it.

Little red candy typewriters are the perfect size and, oh, so cute!

Black and white Rice Krispie Treats were put on sticks and tied with ribbon to make a perfect treat!

Natalie kept with the media theme and used vintage slide projector trays as display props.  They work perfectly for the covered Oreos, too!

The cups are one of my favorite little details of the party!  I love how the cookies hook to the sides of the cups! Twine add a subtle detail~

Old-school games are great choices- especially Tic Tac Toe with Xs and Os!

Checkers is always more fun when the game pieces are actually cookies!

Thank you for sharing your fantastic party ideas with us, Southern Belle’s Charm!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!

BEAUTY QUEEN BIRTHDAY

This gorgeous and adorable party was designed by LookieBoo for her little girl who was celebrating her 2nd birthday.  Her parents have always called her their “Beauty Queen” which became the obvious theme for her celebration.  With a windy, rainy day to add drama to their day, the party was rushed inside and displayed beautifully.  LookieBoo definitely earned her crown with this delightfully girly party for her daughter, Ruby Mae!
