Best friends who share the same name, same birthday month, and same favorite hobby were surprised with a fabulous party hosted by their moms (one mom being Jennifer, of Banner Events)!  Jacob and Jacob had a dual birthday celebration focusing on all things MARIO!   Game ON!

Jennifer contacted Lauren McKinsey Designs to design an entire party collection full of bright Mario-inspired colors and patterns on the banner, invitations, favor tags, and more!  LMD delivered!!  From the minute the guests walked in the door, they knew they were in for a treat!

Jennifer styled the dessert table to resemble the scenery in the game, and she thought of so many clever details!  I LOVE how Jennifer used CapriSun boxes that were spray-painted to look like bricks for the backdrop.  PVC piping from the hardware store was cut, assembled and painted to look like the famous green tubes Mario goes down.  Red and white polka dotted pirahna plants were created from spray painted styrofoam balls & terra cotta pots.

The Birthday Boys look pretty excited about their dessert table and fantastic party!

Bright, cheery cupcakes, cookies, decorated pretzel sticks, and custom-wrapped candybars added to the fun of the dessert table!

There was also a table set up for the guest to pick up their game passes~ and a chocolate mustache just like Mario’s!  Got game?

Each guest also received his own chocolate Wii remote and coins (like the coins Mario earns in the game!)- see, I told you Jennifer thought of so many clever details!!

The guests also had plenty of Power-Up Water on hand!

Favor boxes were polka-dot gable boxes tied with a favor tag and labeled with a sticker that read, “Game over.  Wii thank you for coming to our party.”  The boxes were placed at each place at the table to add to the festive Mario- vibe!

It looks like the boys had a ball being silly with their chocolate mustache props!

To keep the boys busy doing what they love the most, Jennifer hired a Game Truck for the party!

What a fabulous way to celebrate a GAMER PARTY!!  Jennifer is always planning wonderfully creative parties- be sure to stop by her site, Banner Events!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
