One of the most requested themes that I get for birthday party ideas is a Sweet Shoppe Party or Lollipop Party!  I am so excited to share the happy, playful, bright, and cheery party by Kate Petronis of  And Everything Sweet.  Kate hosted this party for her daughter at a local gymnastics business (the first time she has hosted away from home), and shares how she customized the party table with her wonderful treats and how she used the lively Sweet Shoppe Collection from Amanda’s Parties to Go!  Kate made all of the deserts herself!

This is one fabulous cake!  Kate is quite the talented cake artist.  Notice how she incorporated an ice cream cone (double scooped!), a cupcake, and a gumball machine cake all in one cake- just like what you would find in a sweet shoppe!

Kate also made these gorgeous spiral cookies to resemble pieces of candy!  She says they are easy to make!

Each guest had her own yellow gumball machine~

And these adorable containers for filling with candy!

Popcorn was served in cute treat boxes from Amanda’s Parties to Go~

Kate also made each little girl a Sweet Shoppe headband to wear instead of party hats, and the girls decorated frames to take home as favors~

I love how Kate turned a chinese lantern into a candy decoration by threading tulle through the center!

Such a fabulous and fun Sweet Shoppe Party!  Thank you for sharing, Kate!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
