This Willy Wonka Party wows with Oompa Loompas, Golden Tickets, Chocolate Waterfalls, and a host of Chocolate Factory Treats that delighted the children in Mr. Wonka’s edible gardenSarah, of Crackers Art, designed this colorful party for her son after they enjoyed the book and the movie!  Sarah wanted her son and his guests to feel the excitement and magic of edible toadstools and lollipop flowers, and she didn’t miss a beat!  Enjoy the brilliant colors and treats in this Chocolate Factory!

Each child received a Golden Ticket (designed by Sarah at Crackers Art) to enter the factory…

Edible Toadstools were made by mom, Sarah!

Oompa Loompas sang along…

I must admit, these Lollipop Cookies look so perfect that I thought they were made of paper!  They aren’t- they are cookie pops!

Hugo’s cake mimicked the invitation…

And, cupcake toppers continued the colorful brilliance reflected in the movie from the 1970s~

What a great detail- Good/Bad Eggs~

Jaffa Kisses~

Ever-industrious Sarah made chocolate spoons with extra chocolate that she had from the other treats!  Look how cute this impromptu idea turned out to be!

When the guests arrived, they could choose snacks from the snack table before being served lunch.  After lunch, the children entered the Chocolate Factory for all of the treats!  Here is the snack table with Mr. Wonka overlooking it all…and notice the Gobstopper banner!

The Birthday Boy enjoying his day!

And the talented, purple-haired, fun-loving mom behind the creative scenes enjoying her son’s celebration with him!

What a fabulous party, Hugo and Sarah!  Thank you for sharing it with us all!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
