This party delivers a POWERFUL PUNCH of sentiment and nostalgia… playfulness and pizzazz… and lots and lots of LOVE!  We are celebrating a “big kid” today with this fabulous BOXING PARTY from Lauren at Capes and Crowns.  Lauren styled this party for her grandfather (called Poppa) who is a former boxer and who is now 84 years young.  “Poppa’s” boxing name was Thomas, “The Tom Cat” Laster, and so Lauren was sure to play off of his nickname.  No doubt on this decision…this celebration definitely delivers a KNOCKOUT PUNCH (and Poppa is one cool cat!).

Using customized, vintage billboard graphics, Lauren set the tone of the party and made everyone feel ringside.  Adding pops of color, authentic boxing gear from Poppa, boxing-themed foods and treats, and a great sense of styling, Lauren had everyone cheering…

 “The Tom Cat” Cookies…

Lauren ordered a “SEEING STARS” Cake– such a great way to subtly bring in the theme…

The background images are vintage boxing magazines that Lauren decoupaged to use for display~

The Cupcake Tower was a Knockout display of boxing-themed treats, too…

Boxing Glove cakepops were a BIG HIT~

Rock Candy was also a solid contender on the dessert table~

Lauren took great care in making everything coordinate and celebrate her Poppa.  I love the oversized posters- and one of my favorite play on words is on the drink table…”Poppa’s Punch”.  How perfectly cute!

The clever names didn’t stop there.  Have a look at many of the menu items offered~ such as “Black Eyed Dip”, Combination Crab Dip”, and many more.

Lauren included so many cool details- I can only imagine how fun it was for Poppa to see it all!

His gloves…

Boxing Cats- who knew they even made those?!

Gorgeous pennant banners and a custom wreath FILLED with boxing memorabilia~

And funny little favors so that everyone could enjoy their own round in the ring!

And, my favorite photo from the party…the BIRTHDAY BOY!  I told you he was a cool cat!

Truly a fabulous way to celebrate a special boxer and grandfather!  Thank you for sharing the party, Lauren!  It is super cool, super sweet, and super fantastic!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.
