I always love sharing parties that are based on a children’s book!  These ladybug birthday party ideas are based on the story The Ladybug Girl (and Bumblebee Boy) and were sent to me by Lynda at Storybook Bliss.  Very fitting, right?  Lynda brought the book to life with costumes that depict each character, a large mural backdrop, and lots and lots of ladybugs!  Enjoy!

This party is definitely buzzing with cute ideas!  Jessica, of Prop Shop Boutique, hosted this adorable Bug Party for her son’s 4th birthday.  Birthday Boy Landon loves the color orange and he loves bugs~ Jessica took those ideas and designed a party around his favorites!  With a natural  and neutral backdrop, Jessica added pops of color with the bugs and the fruits and sweets.  You can definitely see why this party was hoppin’!

There is nothing like spying a big bag of GIANT heart-shaped marshmallows when you are a child and your mom is dragging you through Target.   They are pretty-much just calling your name!  And so, my kids and I left the store that day with big, big marshmallows and the accompanying smaller version of heart-shaped mallows.  I must admit, they looked pretty fun…and so, while they were at school during the following week, I made Marshmallow Love Bugs for them.  They love anything with candy eyes and anything on a stick~ and that is where I started.  And, this is what they became…silly little love bugs that never bite back.  I was thrilled to guest post over at Piggy Bank Parties with these sweet little bugaboos!  Be sure to scroll down for a FREE matching Love Bug tag!

This darling party was designed by Jackie of The Little Nook in Atlanta, GA.  The little birthday girl wanted to be a bug for her birthday- and so they settled on a ladybug as the main theme and incorporated other bug friends along the way…

Jackie incorporated buggy foods in such cute ways while keeping it simple and kid-friendly~

The activities were spot-on, too!

The kids seem to love their roles as bugs…

The birthday girl was a beautiful Princess Bug for the day…

And each of her friends buzzed home with an adorable jar of ladybugs~

What a sweet party full of details and charm!

I have been so excited to share this party by THE LITTLE NOOK so that I could also share with you the other exciting adventures that are available from The Little Nook.  Jackie has created a fabulous environment where children can explore and learn- and parents can enjoy staying and playing or having a “Mom’s Morning” while the children are happily engaged in activities…

And I love this idea- glow in the dark face paint for a lesson on fireflies…

And a jar for catching fireflies with a night-time surprise, thanks to glow-in-the-dark paint.

You will love what The Little Nook has to offer~

The Little Nook is located in the heart of Buckhead- 530 East Paces Ferry Road- Atlanta, GA
